About aluminium

Aluminium is one of the most versatile and durable materials of our time. Thanks to its unique combination of light weight, high strength and excellent corrosion resistance, aluminium is suited to countless applications in both industry and construction.

That is why we deliver more than aluminium. We provide complete peace of mind: from raw stock or custom work to comprehensive documentation, working according to recognised quality standards, including ISO 9001.

Thanks to short lines, logistical flexibility and in-depth knowledge of the sector, we ensure that every project worldwide proceeds according to schedule.

Applications per alloy

In the overview below you can find the applications per alloy.

Abbreviation meanings

Various abbreviations are used in the coding of alloys according to the European standard. The meanings of the abbreviations are shown below.

Hardness codes

Meaning of the main hardness codes per alloy.

Physical properties

The physical properties of aluminium are shown schematically.

Mechanical properties

Below you can find the mechanical properties per alloy. (No rights can be derived from this data).

Chemical composition

Weight calculation

Calculating weights is essential when determining the quantity of aluminium you need. The overview below contains all the formulas.

Plate

(L × B × D × 2,7) ÷ 1000 = grams per plate

Disc

(B × B × D × 2,14) ÷ 1000 = grams per piece

Round tube

(B + C) × (2 × D) × 2,14 = grams per metre

Round bar (2007/2011)

D × D × 2,23 = grams per metre

Round bar (6082)

D × D × 2,14 = grams per metre

Square bar (2007/2011)

D × D × 2,84 = grams per metre

Square bar (6082)

D × D × 2,7 = grams per metre

Hexagonal bar (2011)

D × D × 2,44 = grams per metre

Flat bar

B × D × 2,7 = grams per metre

Angle profile

(B + H – D) × D × 2,7 = grams per metre

T-profile

(B + H – D) × D × 2,7 = grams per metre

U-profile

(H + B + H) – 2 × D × 2,7 = grams per metre

Box profile

(B + H – 2D) × 2D × 2,7 = grams per metre

All dimensions in the calculation must be entered in mm.
